Clipdiary – clipboard history manager
Clipdiary is a clipboard manager that allows you to save a history of copied data. When copying, ClipDiary remembers in its database everything that you copied on your computer to the clipboard.
Information, images, text, etc. are entered into the database of the program. All this data will be stored in the program. You will be able to access at any time the clip (the so-called saved information), which, at one time, was placed on the clipboard some time ago.
In the Windows operating system, after shutting down or restarting the computer, the contents of the clipboard are cleared. With ClipDiary, you won’t lose your history data from the clipboard, as the application will remember the copied data and store it in its database.
The application remembers various formats that have been copied to the clipboard: text, RTF, HTML, images, links. If you need this data again, you can easily copy it, or immediately paste it into the right place, for example, some text.
In the Clipdiary program, having accessed the clipboard history, it will be possible to perform the following actions:
- Copy data back to clipboard.
- Paste directly into the active window of the program any clip from the history.
- Search for a clip by its title or content.
- Get information about the program from which the data was copied.
- Ability to delete clips from Clipdiary.
The Clipdiary program runs on the Windows operating system and has support for the Russian language. The program is free for non-commercial use.
You can download the free ClipDiary program from the official website of the developer. To download to your computer, you can choose two versions of the program: regular, with installation on your computer, or portable (Clipdiary Portable), which does not require installation.

Clipdiary Settings
It will be possible to enter the program settings, after opening the main window of the Clipdiary program, from the “File” menu, selecting the “Settings” item in the context menu. You can also enter the settings using the “F4” key on the keyboard.
In the program settings, in the “General” section, you can activate the “Run at system boot” item so that the utility keeps the clipboard history all the time.
If you do not need to constantly monitor the clipboard, then you can not activate this item. Clipdiary will only keep clipboard history while the program was running on your computer.
In the “Hot keys” section, it will be possible, if necessary, to change the keys to perform certain actions.
In the “Database” settings section, the path to the database is displayed. Here you can limit the maximum number of clips that will be stored in the database.
By default, Clipdiary saves 20,000 clips. It is possible that such a large number of saved clips will be too large. Keep in mind that the more clips will be stored in the database of the program, the more space this database will take up on your computer’s hard drive.
Therefore, it will be possible to choose a more modest option: 500 or 1000 clips.
The “Filtering” section helps you filter applications and formats to add exceptions when working in the program.
In the “Problem Applications” subsection, you can add the program, the clipboard status of which is not necessary to monitor in the Clipdiary program.
To add the corresponding program, in the “Problem Applications” window, you will need to click on the “Add” button. In the context menu, you will need to select the “Enter file path” item.
After that, an Explorer window will open, in which you will need to navigate to the corresponding file in order to add it to the exclusions.
In this image, you can see that I added the KeePass password manager to the list of applications so that Clipdiary does not try to grab data from this application.
In the “Problemous formats” subsection, some formats have already been added by default, data from which the clipboard manager will not try to capture. You can add to this list, or exclude from the list those formats in which data should be tracked.
The “Advanced” section contains other program settings. You can change these settings as you wish. At the bottom of the window, you can read what exactly the selected settings item in the Clipdiary program is intended for.
