How to use Instagram stories filters
From the moment you wonder how to use Instagram filter, I must first inform you that Instagram filters are effects that can only be applied through the stories of the social network. Therefore, to use them, it is necessary to use the Instagram app for Android (downloadable from the Play Store or alternative stores ) and iPhone / iPad (downloadable from the App Store ).
Furthermore, you should also know that some Instagram filters are already available by default, while others (i.e. those created by users or companies through the Spark AR Studio program ), can be searched and added at any time via the Effects Gallery.
That said, to take advantage of the filters in Instagram stories, swipe left on the main screen of the social network app, in order to open the built-in camera. At this point, you will find several filters already available (the colored round icons ): swipe right or left to select the one of your interest to apply in real time to the integrated camera.
In this regard, if you wonder which is the best Instagram filter you must know that there is such a wide choice that it is impossible to make a ranking. So it’s up to you to choose which one to use, depending on the story you want to make. Therefore, my advice in this regard is to go through all the filters, to test them in real time.
Also, after viewing all the filters, click on the Search Effects button. After that, in the Effects Gallery, refer to the categories located at the top (for example Selfie, Love, Funny ), to identify, in the integrated database, the one to use that best reflects your needs. In case you want more tips on using filters, I suggest you read my guide where I tell you about some of the best Instagram effects.
How to use Instagram filters without posting
Have you found a filter you like and would like to try it out before using it? In that case you can do it easily: you can use Instagram filters even without posting a story.
Therefore, if you have identified a filter that interests you through the Effects Gallery, press it and then tap the Try button to preview the effect. If, on the other hand, the filter has been published in an Instagram story of another user, press the name of the filter located in the upper left corner and then tap the Try it button, to view the effect in real time via the instagram camera.
After trying a filter you can save it, to automatically find it in the camera of the photo social network. To do this, press on the name of the filter and then tap on the item Save the effect.
Explaining how to use filters on Instagram is practically superfluous: in most cases they are static effects, which are used to aesthetically modify a photo or video. Some filters, however, are more dynamic, even if their use is quite intuitive.
In this regard, if, for example, you are wondering how to use the Dragon Ball Instagram filter, you should know that there are several filters that respond to this name. One of the best known is the Dragon Ball + filter which simulates the titles of the famous anime: to use it, select the phrase you want to display on the screen among those that are shown, then activate the recording mode Without holding down and start recording the video by pressing the shutter button. Finally, press on the screen, when you want the writing to appear.
How to use Instagram saved filters
Have you saved an Instagram filter and would like to use it now? All you have to do is start the Instagram camera by swiping to the left on the main social network screen.
At this point, swipe left: the first round icon will be the one relating to the last filter you saved. Therefore, all saved filters are automatically visible in the Instagram camera and are, therefore, ready to use.
In this regard, if, for example, you are wondering how to use the Tarantino Instagram filter, you should know that, even in this case, there are several effects that you can use, to replicate the black and white style of the films of the well-known director. Among the most used is the Tarantino Credits filter which emulates the opening credits of films such as Kill Bill.
To use it, activate the press-and-hold mode to record a story. Finally, press on the screen, during the recording: a still image occurs and, consequently, the message “Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino” appears on the screen.
How to use Instagram filters on pre-made photos
Did you know that you can combine multiple filters on Instagram? To do this, identify, through the social network camera, the first filter you want to use and then take a photo or record a video using the filter in question.
At the end of the operation, press on the down arrow icon to download the multimedia content created. After that, press the X button and confirm the deletion of the history via the Delete button.
Now, press on the media gallery icon at the bottom left and select the photo or video made previously, to import it. At this point, press on the sparks icon located at the top, in order to apply an additional filter. Confirm the operation using the Finish button and then publish the created story by clicking on the Your story button.
How to use Instagram filters on TikTok
If you wonder how to use Instagram filters on TikTok I must, unfortunately, inform you that it is not possible: the app of the well-known video sharing social network does not allow you to import third-party filters, as it already has a gallery of predefined effects.

How to use Instagram filters in posts
As anticipated, the Instagram stories filters are usable only in that specific section of the social network: therefore, if you want to use them for multimedia content to be published in the Post section , you must download the video or the photo made in the stories, by pressing the down arrow icon .
Once this is done, you just have to press the (+) button in order to publish a new post , loading the multimedia content previously downloaded, selecting it from the multimedia gallery of your device.
Finally, press the arrow icon twice in a row and then press the √ button, to publish the post on Instagram. In this regard, if in doubt, refer to the procedures indicated in my guide on how to post on Instagram.
