Appearance and design

Externally, the headphones look quite strictly, without unnecessary details. The case is made of matte plastic.

The outer part of the cups with a metal rim, the name of the brand is applied in the center.

The ear cushions are non-removable, made of artificial leather filled with foam rubber. Inside there are labels for the right and left channels (R and L).

The cups are movable and fit well. The size of the headband can be adjusted manually.

On the head, the headphones stay on perfectly, do not fly off during active movement, for example, when playing sports. The bowls are foldable and stow away inside the headband: compact and convenient. In this form, the headphones can easily fit even in a small handbag.

Operating modes and control

The control buttons on the SuperEQ S1 are located on the right earcup. Three buttons together – to switch tracks and pause, just below – a separate button to switch noise reduction.

The volume is adjusted by briefly pressing the “+” or “-” button. To switch tracks, you need to hold these buttons. Center button – to turn off the headphones or pause. The same button is responsible for receiving calls, one press – receive, two presses – reset.

The earbuds have three modes: ANC mode/Bluetooth mode/Transparency mode. ANC – active noise cancellation mode. All extraneous sounds around are cut off. Transparency mode – Ambient mode when external sound is heard. In this mode, you can communicate with people without removing the headphones.

The noise reduction button with one press changes the ANC mode to the transparency mode. When held, turns off noise reduction or transparency.

Also on the right earpiece are: micro USB connector; LED (red or white), 3.5 mm wire connector.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main indicator for any headphones is sound. And this model is excellent. The headphones support the “bass” very well, they have a decent low-frequency range. Moreover, the sound quality is approximately the same for both wired and wireless listening. The volume margin is very large, it is not even necessary to turn on the maximum volume.

The noise reduction system also has little to no effect on sound quality. And if we compare this model with OneOdio A30 , then in the latter one can note a drop in low frequencies. In SuperEQ S1 in ANC mode, there is almost no such thing.

It is worth noting the convenience of wearing – the headphones sit tight, are adjustable on the head. The design is foldable, does not take up much space.

The material of the ear pads is artificial leather. This is not very good in hot weather, because there is no ventilation in the headphones. The headband of the headphones does not hold the fixation very well when adjusted.

Another point – not the most modern version of the connector – microUSB. For ease of use, though, a Type-C connector would be preferable.

Results

The SuperEQ S1 Hybrid ANC Headphones outperform many peers in terms of quality and cost. Despite minor flaws, this is a great option for those who want a full-size headset at an affordable price.
