Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro are officially presented
On August 10, during the presentation of Galaxy Unpacked, the South Korean concern Samsung announced a new generation of branded smart watches. The manufacturer abandoned the Classic version this year and offered the consumer two models of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro version is a premium gadget that is very different from the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic released last year. The novelty is dressed in a titanium case, which is reliably protected from water (5 ATM, IP68), as well as shocks, drops and external adverse effects according to the military standard MIL-STD-810H.
The developers used a 1.4-inch AMOLED display covered with sapphire crystal. There is no rotating bezel now. The model is only available in 45 mm version. The watch comes with a D-Buckle sports strap, which is stronger than silicone.
The gadget is built on a proprietary Exynos W920 chip. The memory arsenal includes 1.5 GB of RAM and a 16 GB flash module. Responsible for power is a 590 mAh battery with support for fast charging. Battery life in normal mode is 80 hours, with GPS on – 20 hours. In addition to the standard functions, the watch received the ability to measure body temperature and take an ECG.
The regular edition is available in 40 and 44 mm. The younger version of the Galaxy Watch 5 received a 284 mAh power supply, the older version – 410 mAh.
Samsung smart watches will go to retail on August 26. The starting price of the Galaxy Watch 5 will be $280. The Pro version will cost $500 (with 4G/LTE modem) and $450 (with Bluetooth only).
