HYPERAUTOMATION: OPPORTUNITY OR THREAT?
WHAT IS HYPERAUTOMATION?
Hyperautomation is the process of automating processes or tasks through the use of artificial intelligence and robotic automation. Hyperautomation can be used in many different fields and will only become more prevalent as AI becomes more advanced.
HYPERAUTOMATION THREATS
We are headed for a world where automation will replace humans in almost every industry. In this article, we will explore the potential and impact of hyperautomation on knowledge workers.
With the rise of AI and automation, it is predicted that many jobs will be lost and a great deal of work eliminated. This will also lead to a big change in the way people think about work. Hyperautomation is the integration of multiple high-level technologies to reduce workload and improve efficiency.
Hyperautomation is a state of automation where machine learning technologies and algorithms take over most of the repetitive and predictable tasks. For a decade, executives have been talking about how AI-driven automation will transform their business. In 2018, we started to see the change. The AI-driven era is here. In 2018, data from the McKinsey Global Institute showed that US companies have been using automation technologies to reduce labor by 8 percent since the 1980s. It’s clear that AI-supported automation has begun to take hold in the workforce, and now we have a better understanding of when it will happen and how it will affect the economy. The automation of certain industries has accelerated with technological advances. An example is the case of the trucking industry, which has seen significant drops in employment due to technological advances such as autonomous trucks. This can be attributed to the ability of companies to use data and analytics to replace humans with robots or software programs.
HYPERAUTOMATION OPPORTUNITIES
Hyperautomation is a term that many people are not yet familiar with. What we mean by hyperautomation is the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate tasks in the office. This is different from automation, which is something that has been around for a while. Hyperautomation goes a step further by using AI to think of the best possible solution to a problem, rather than simply following specific instructions. The use of big data and AI for hyperautomation will enable people to be more productive in the workplace at all levels and in any field because it reduces the cognitive load in decision making. The term was coined by the American company Amazon.com as early as 2006. In a 2018 interview, David Gilday, Amazon’s vice president of technology, said that very few people had used the term in its first three years.
Clearly, technology poses a threat to the world we conceive today, but we must adapt and see that technology is our ally and we must make the most of it. And you, what do you think of hyperautomation? Do you see it as a threat or as an opportunity?
