17Track
The first solution to track a package without knowing the courier I want to tell you about is 17Track. This is a web service that allows you to track the shipments of all the most famous couriers, local and not, simply by typing the relative tracking code. It is localized in Italian, it is very easy to use and what’s more, it is free and there is no registration requirement. In short, try it now and you will see that you will finally be able to find out which shipping service is taking care of your package.
To use it, first connect to the 17Track home page, then enter the shipping code in your possession in the appropriate text box in the center of the page. If you want, you can also enter multiple shipping codes simultaneously, by pressing the Enter key on the keyboard to go to the field and filling in the next field.
Then press the yellow Track button on the right and, on the page that opens later, if you have entered more than one tracking code, select the shipment of your interest. You will find the name of the reference courier indicated at the top center, on the left the current status of your package and on the right the time of the last update relating to shipment tracking.
Below, however, there are all the steps taken by the courier up to now. Next to the various items on the page you may find colored icons indicated various information. To find out what they refer to, you can follow the legend above.
AfterShip
Even AfterShip is a Web service that deserves to be mentioned in an article focused on tracking of parcels handled by couriers that you do not know the identity. It’s super easy to use, free, no registration required, and supports more than 790 couriers worldwide. It also has a nice user interface and provides pretty detailed information.
To use it, connected to the home page of the service, type the tracking code of your package in the Identification number field attached to the displayed page, make sure that the Courier option (automatic detection) is selected in the drop-down menu below (otherwise open the menu and select it yourself) and click on the yellow Track button which is on the right.
On the page that will subsequently be shown to you, you will find indicated the name of the courier and its logo at the top, the telephone number to get in touch with the customer service of the latter and, in the center, the steps taken by your shipment and the state it is currently in.
Track It
As an alternative to the aforementioned online services, you can rely on Track IT, another famous portal for tracking and identifying shipments, thanks to which you can therefore be able to track a package without necessarily having to know the courier. Like the other services already mentioned, it is able to perform flawlessly the purpose for which it is intended. Even in this case, the service is free and to use it it is not mandatory to create a specific account.
You ask me how you can use it? I’ll point it out to you right away. First, connect to the home page of the service and type the number of your shipment in the empty field next to the item Shipping number, on the right.
Then check that in correspondence with the drop-down menus Country of destination and Which forwarder? the options Autolove automatically and Autodetect Carrier are selected respectively, so as to allow the service to automatically identify the courier. Then press the button with the magnifying glass to start the search.
On the page that you will see appear at this point, you will find the logo and name of the reference courier and in the center all the various steps taken by the latter for the delivery of your shipment.
Please note that by clicking on what is reported next to the Link to this shipment item: a page will open with all the various steps of the shipment and information on the courier that you can possibly share with friends, relatives, colleagues, etc. or to be used to track the shipment at a later time, without having to repeat all the above steps from scratch.
Packagetrackr
Did none of the aforementioned websites satisfy you, or did they not help you in being able to track a package without knowing the courier? If that’s the case, don’t throw in the towel just yet! Instead, try to rely on Packagetrackr. This is another portal with a similar functioning to those mentioned above, and it also supports many couriers operating in Italy and abroad. It has a pretty neat user interface and it’s free. Furthermore, even in this case, no registration is required to be able to use it.
To use it, connect to the main page of the service and fill in the field Enter your tracking number… which is at the top with the tracking code for the shipment, then press the green button Track it! placed on the right.
On the Web page that you will subsequently see appear, you will find the name of the courier in the center and all the other details relating to the shipment such as the place of departure and destination, the weight of the package, the date of shipment, that of arrival, etc.
At the top, on the other hand, the various steps of the shipment are indicated together with the time and date of the last update, while in the lower part there is a map showing the various movements made by the courier and all the shipment statuses indicated, however detailed.
Keep in mind that the website is in English but, if you want, you can translate it using the Google Translate drop-down menu at the top; even if, it is good to take this into account, the Italian used is not exactly the best.
TrackingMore
One other service that could come in handy is TrackingMore, which is very intuitive and allows you to track shipments of 650 carriers around the world. It’s free and you don’t need to register to use it.
To use it, connected to the main page of TrackingMore, scroll through it and type the tracking code of the package you would like to know more about in the Tracking Number text field, which is on the left. Next, click the orange Track button to start the courier and package search.
Then wait a few moments, so that the service does not identify the courier who is taking care of the package and you will find yourself in the presence of a new web page with all the details of the case. In the upper part you will find the logo and the name of the courier, further down the contact details to be able to possibly get in touch with the latter and even further down the various steps taken by your shipment up to now.
