With today’s guide, in fact, I will explain how to sell used clothes online, indicating the detailed procedure for creating sales advertisements from computers, smartphones and tablets. In addition to listing a series of classifieds sites on which you can sell everything, I will also show you online services and applications dedicated exclusively to the purchase and sale of clothing. How do you say? Is that exactly what you wanted to know? So let’s not waste any more time chatting and let’s get to the heart of the matter immediately.

Ad sites

One of the first solutions you can consider to sell used clothes online are classifieds sites. The latter, by creating their own account, allow you to publish free sales advertisements for any type of object (including clothing items) without any commission on the final sale price.

Subito.it

Subito.it is one of the most popular classifieds sites in Italy. It allows you to publish sales advertisements for free (with additional paid features) and without any commission on the sale price. It is also available as an application for Android and iOS devices.

To create a sales announcement on Subito.it from a computer, connected to the main page of the service, click on the Register button, enter your details in the fields Your email, Password, Birthday, Gender and Municipality, put the checkmark required to accept the terms of service and click on the Confirm button.

Then log into your e-mail box, locate the e-mail sent by Subito.it and click on the Confirm button contained therein to activate your account and complete the registration. For the detailed procedure, I leave you to my guide on how to register on Subito.it.

Now, click on the item Insert ad and, first of all, select the category Clothing and accessories visible in the section For the home and the person. Then specify the type of dress you are selling ( sweatshirts and sweaters, skirts, trousers, jackets and vests, polo shirts and t-shirts, etc.) and, using the drop-down menu For, select one of the options available between Men, Women and Unisex.

Click then on the icon of the camera to upload one or more photos of your article and enter the inset details in the fields Title, Ad Text, price and Municipality. Finally, indicate your details in the Name and  Telephone fields, put the checkmark next to the item  Hide the number  (if you do not want to show the address publicly) and click on the Continue button.

In the new open page, choose whether or not to take advantage of one of the paid features, such as Put back to top (starting from 1 euro), which allows you to reposition the ad at the top of the list of sales ads, or Put in the window (from € 0.60), to publish the ad in a dedicated and clearly visible position. Once you have made your choice, click on the Continue button to send the advertisement to the Subito.it staff who, once approved, will publish it. To learn more, I leave you to my guide on how to sell on Subito.it.

As mentioned above, Subito.it is also available in the form of an application for smartphones and tablets. To publish an ad using your mobile device, start the app in question, tap the Reserved area button and log in to your account by entering the data in the Your email and Password fields. If, on the other hand, you do not have an account yet, click on Register, fill out the registration form and tap the Register button.

Now, choose the Insert option, select the Clothing and accessories category, tap the camera icon to upload one or more photos of your dress and press the Next item. In the new screen displays, enter the required data in the fields Title, Ad Text, I am a / a City, price and type, and specifies if the dress you’re selling is for Man, Woman or Unisex.

Finally, enter your details in the Name and Telephone fields, indicate whether or not to publicly display the latter and press the Next button, then choose whether to use one of the paid features of Subito.it (and possibly choose the payment method that prefer) and tap the Continue button to send your advertisement to the Subito.it staff.

Kijiji

EBay’s Kijiji is another classifieds site to consider selling used items. The ideal solution for those who want to create advertisements without creating an account and without spending a cent.

To create your sales announcement, connected to the main page of Kijiji, click on the Insert button at the top right, select the item Clothing and accessories through the drop-down menu next to the Category option, specify the sub-category of your interest ( men’s, women’s clothing, Other apparel and accessories ) and indicate your town of residence in the municipality.

In the  Enter the Title, Description and Images section, specify the details of your advertisement in the Title, Price, Type ( Sweatshirts and sweaters, Jackets and Vests, Pants etc.) and  Description fields and click on the Images item to upload one or more pictures of the dress you are selling.

If you want to increase your sales probability, in the Visibility Services section, choose one of the available services: Ad Plus  (€ 22.90) to bring the ad back to the top of the ads once a week for six months; Highlights  (€ 1.90) to give greater visibility to the ad; Always return to the top  (€ 8.90) to bring the ad back to the top of the ads every week for 7 times or every day for 10 times or  Top Ads  (€ 8.90 for 7 days or € 22.90 for 30 days) to show the ad in a privileged position, always at the top of the list.

Finally, enter your contact details in the Email, Name and Telephone fields (the latter is optional) and click on the Publish your ad button. To activate the latter, log into your mailbox, locate the email sent by Kijiji and click on the Confirm announcement button contained in it.

If you are wondering if it is possible to place an ad on Kijiji from smartphones and tablets, the answer is yes. In fact, the ad site is also available as an application for Android and iOS devices but to create an ad you need to create your own account.

To proceed, start the app in question, tap on Post an ad and choose the Register option. Then enter the required data in the Name, Email and Password fields and press the Register button, then open the email sent by Kijiji and press the Activate account button contained within it.

Now, enter the details of your listing in the Title, Description, Price, Location and contact fields and select the Apparel and accessories option in the Category field. Finally, tap on the Post Ad button and that’s it.

Svuotaly

Among the solutions you can consider to sell used clothes online there is also  Svuotaly. If you have never heard of it, it is an Italian and completely free platform that does not charge any commission either for the publication of new advertisements or for the sale of a product.

To start selling on Svuotaly, connected to the main page of the service, click on the Registration item at the top right and choose whether to register with your Facebook account, choosing the Connect in 1 click with the Facebook option, or whether to use your address email, by filling out the registration form in the Registration with Email box.

In the latter case, enter your details in the  Username, Email address and Password fields, place the checkmark required to accept the terms of service and click on the Open cabinet button. In the new open page, specify your data using the drop-down menus Clothing size, Shoe size, Style ( Casual, Elegant, Sporty etc.), Favorite color, Gender, Year of birth, Province and City and click on the button save and continue to complete your account creation.

You are now ready to start selling your used clothes on Svuotaly. To proceed, choose the Sell item in the top menu and click the Upload Photo button to upload up to 4 photos of the dress you are selling. In the Description section, choose the Clothing option from the Category drop-down menu (there are also the Shoes, Accessories, Bags and Childhood categories ), enter the title of the advertisement in the Product name field and indicate the brand in the appropriate field.

Then enter the required data in the Description, Gender ( Man, Woman, Unisex, Child, Girl and Other ) and  Size / Measure / Dimensions fields, indicate the sale price in the Price field and specify if you are interested in an exchange with others clothes via the Swap drop-down menu.

To complete the creation of your sales announcement, select one of the options available from the drop-down menus Main color, Style, Season, Is vintage, indicate its status ( State of wear, Original packaging and Known defects ) and specify the type of delivery and shipping costs in the Delivery section. Once the ad creation is complete, click on the Insert button and that’s it.

To view all your sales announcements, choose the Cabinet item in the top menu and click on the advertisement of your interest. It will be useful to know that every 7 days you will have the possibility to bring your advertisement back to the first position in the chosen sales category for free by clicking on the UP option, available within the advertisement itself.

To make changes, however, press the Edit button, while to delete or “label” the product as sold, choose one of the available options ( For sale , Sold , Deleted and Pending ) via the Sold drop-down menu.

Svuotaly is not available as an application for smartphones and tablets. However, using the browser installed on your mobile device (eg Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS) you can register for the service and create your own advertisements. The procedure to follow is identical to that described in the previous paragraphs for computers.

Depop

Depop is another good service for selling clothing (including used clothing), but it also allows you to sell books, shoes, technology products, jewelry, household items and much more.

Although Depop can be used from a browser, to create an account, open your store and publish sales advertisements, you need to download the free application for Android and iOS devices. Furthermore, it will be useful to know that the service allows you to open a shop and publish sales announcements for free but applies a 10% commission on the final sale price (including shipping), to which the payment rates applied by PayPal must be added ( 3.4% + € 0.30).

If you think Depop is the sales solution that best suits your needs, start the service application by tapping its icon (a black “D” on a red background ) on the home screen of your device, press the Register button, enters your phone number in the appropriate field and tap the ✓ button, then enter the verification code you received via SMS in the appropriate field and complete the registration by entering the required data in the Name, Surname, Email, Username and Password fields.

After creating your account, tap on the camera icon in the bottom menu, click on the Open your store now button and follow the wizard to create your store, entering its profile picture and describing what you sell. To complete the creation of the store, it is necessary to associate your PayPal account (if you do not have one yet, my guide on how to register with PayPal may be useful ): press, then, on the Connect PayPal button, enter the data in the Address fields email and password and tap the Login and Accept and continue buttons to complete the connection.

Finally, enter your billing information in the fields Name and surname, Address of residence, State, province or region, City and ZIP code and press the Next and Start selling buttons to open your shop and start the creation of your first ad. sale.

On the For sale screen, tap the camera icon to add photos of the dress you’re selling (you can also upload a video by pressing the camera icon ) and enter a description of the dress in the Description field .

Specification, then the object’s details in the fields Place, Category ( Men’s, Women’s Clothing, Sporting Goods, etc.), Subcategory, Size, Quantity,  Delivery and Price of the item and you tap on the arrow. In the new screen that appears, press the Confirm subject button to post your sales announcement and that’s it.

To view your shop, tap on the little man icon (bottom right) and click on the advertisement of your interest to view its details. To make changes to the ad, press the Edit button, while to delete the ad, tap on the three dots icon and choose the Delete item option (or Mark as sold if the product is no longer available).

It will be useful to know that, from your computer, by connecting to the Depop main page and logging into your account, you can view your sales advertisements but you can neither make changes nor create new ads. The only option available from the browser is the purchase of items offered for sale by other users.

eBay

eBay is among the most popular online shopping sites in the world and definitely needs no introduction. By creating a free account, it allows you to create sales advertisements by applying a commission on the final value of 10% (excluding shipping cost).

Before we show you the walkthrough to post a sales ad, you need to know that non-professional sellers can create up to 50 free listings per month, after which each listing costs 0.35 euros. Additionally, you can create listings on eBay using two types of ads.

• Online auction: allows you to publish sales announcements of varying duration from 1 to 10 days, specifying the starting price (and possibly the reserve price to be reached for the sale to be successful). At the end of the auction, the highest bidder wins the item in question.
• Buy it now: the seller sets a fixed price for the sale, also giving buyers the possibility to send any purchase proposals.

Having said that, you are ready to sell your clothes on eBay. From your computer, connected to the eBay main page and click on the Login button to access your account. If, on the other hand, you do not have an account yet, choose the Register option, enter your details in the Name, Surname, Email, and Password fields and press the Subscribe button.

Now, click on the Sell item (top right), enter the title of your ad in the field  Enter a descriptive title for the ad and press the Start button, then select the option Create a new ad, put the sign of tick next to Used and, on the Enter your contact information screen, enter your personal data.

In the new screen displayed, create your sale advertisement by acting in the Title, Add photo, Details and Description sections, then locate the Set a price option and choose the type of advertisement you prefer between Online Auction and Buy It Now, also specifying the starting price or purchase price.

Then specify the shipping conditions in the Shipping section, indicate the accepted payment method and click on the Sell ​​at the rates shown button to publish your listing. To learn more, you can take a look at my guide on how to see on eBay.

As you know, eBay is also available as an application for Android and iOS devices. To create a new listing using your smartphone (or your tablet), all you have to do is start the eBay app, tap on the Login item and enter your account data in the appropriate fields. If, on the other hand, you don’t have an account yet, select the Register option and choose whether to register using your email address, your Facebook account or a Google account.

After logging into your account, tap the Sell item, press the Sell ​​an item button, enter the name of the item to sell in the  Describe what you are selling field and, in the new screen displayed, choose the Create a new options  Listing and Used.

Now, tap on the camera icon to upload an image of the dress you are selling, enter the title of the listing in the appropriate field and make sure that the suggested category is Clothing and accessories.

Continue, therefore, in the creation of the advertisement by acting in the sections Item details, Description, Prices (choosing whether to sell in Online Auction or Buy It Now mode ) and Shipping and press the Put for sale button at the rates shown to publish your sales announcement.

Facebook Marketplace

Among the solutions you can consider to sell your used clothes there is also Facebook Marketplace, the section of Facebook dedicated to sales announcements. It allows you to publish advertisements without any commission costs and to manage the sale privately with the buyer.

To create a sales ad from smartphones and tablets, start the Facebook app ( Android / iOS ) and log in to your account. If, on the other hand, you don’t have an account yet, you might find my guide on how to sign up for Facebook on a mobile phone.

In the new screen displayed, tap the store icon in the main menu, press the Sell button and choose the Items option from the menu that appears, then tap the Add photo item to upload one or more photos of the dress you are wearing for sale and enter your listing data in the Title, Price, Category, Place, Description and Tag fields of the product.

Then indicate if you are willing to ship the item by moving the lever next to the item Offer shipping from OFF to ON and press the Next button at the top right. Finally, put the checkmark next to Your profile if you want to publish the ad also on your Facebook profile, choose any sales groups in which to post the advertisement and press the Publish button. To find out more, I leave you to my guide on how to use Facebook to sell.

If you prefer to publish an ad on Facebook from your computer, connected to the main page of the famous social network, log in to your account and click on the  Marketplace item in the sidebar on the left. On the newly opened page, click on the Sell ​​something button, enter the title of the advertisement in the What do you sell? , Please provide the price in the appropriate field and specify the category of your interest in clothes and men’s shoes and clothes and shoes.

If you wish, describe the item of clothing you are selling in the Describe your item field, click on the photo item to upload one or more photos of the product to sell, press the Next button, select any sales groups in which to publish your ad and click the Post button.

To manage your sales advertisements, instead, access the Facebook Home , click on the Messenger and Sale items , press the Manage button related to your ad and choose the option of your interest between Delete article and Edit post .

Other solutions to sell used clothes online

If in addition to the sites and applications that I have indicated in the previous paragraphs, you would like to know other services to increase your sales chances, here are other solutions to sell used clothes online that you can consider.

• Bakeca: allows you to post advertisements for sales of any kind, including used clothing. It is free, does not charge commissions on the final sale price, and registration is not required to create an ad.
• it: the ideal solution for those who want to create free sales advertisements without registration. It has numerous sales categories, including Fashion and Accessories dedicated to clothing listings.
• Shpock: is an excellent online service for the sale of second-hand items, also available as an application for Android and iOS devices . Unfortunately, however, it is no longer available in Italian and, for this reason, many buyers prefer to rely on other platforms for their purchases on the Internet.
