Call of Duty Modern Warfare download and install

To start playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare , the first step is, of course, to purchase and install the game.

You must know, in fact, that the Activision title is available for PS4 , Xbox One and PC and is cross platform , which means that you can play online with your friends even using different platforms. Great, isn’t it?

If you own a PS4 you can buy the game in digital format (directly on the official store of the Sony home console) or in physical format (in electronics stores or online). If you have purchased the digital version, I inform you that after the payment has been made, the download will start and you will have to wait for the completion (the time required depends on your connection). If you don’t know how to proceed, you can read my tutorial on how to download games on PS4 .

The size of Call of Duty Modern Warfare for PlayStation 4 is around 65GB , so make sure you have enough storage space on your console. In case you don’t have enough memory, don’t worry, just read my guide on how to increase the memory of the PS4 to solve your problem.

In the case of a physical copy, to install the game, just insert the disc into the console and wait for the title to start. Any updates will also be downloaded.

Before showing you how you can buy Modern Warfare on PC , I want to show you what are the minimum / recommended requirements , so as to immediately verify that your gaming PC is able to reflect the required characteristics.

The recommended requirements , on the other hand, are those that allow you to have an optimal gaming experience and without any kind of problem (you can play at 60 fps with all the options set to average values).

Tips on how to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Once you have purchased / downloaded and installed the game, you are ready to go into action. If you are a beginner and you notice that you are having difficulty playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare , you absolutely must not be discouraged. All you have to do is train with consistency and commitment and follow some small tips that I will give you later, in order to improve your performance and challenge your friends more effectively.

Practice with custom games

So, have you started the first online games on Call of Duty Modern Warfare but are having difficulties due to lack of experience? It is completely normal, especially in games of this genre, where you have to compare yourself with other gamers, perhaps much more experienced than you.

The first piece of advice I want to give you, in this regard, is to familiarize yourself with the game as much as possible. To do this, you can first take advantage of the custom games , in which you can train in the company of bots (i.e. enemies controlled by the game) and improve your skills.

Obviously, this workout will not only have to be done once, but continuously (at least at the beginning). As the days go by, you will notice a noticeable improvement, so much so that you can return to public matches against other gamers.

If in the first few days everything seems very difficult to you, you absolutely must not be discouraged, you will see that with the passage of time everything will become much easier and you will have more and more fun.

To start a custom game, head into the Multiplayer menu via the main menu. Continue, then on Private game, Trials and Game Battles , selectable in the Play menu , click on Custom game and go to the game settings .

Within the new screen, first select the map (I recommend using a small map, in order to avoid the dispersion of enemies), the mode and the rules of the game .

Then continue inside the Bot Configuration menu to adjust all the various options concerning the soldiers controlled by the PC. Then set the number and level of allied bots and enemy bots . My advice is to increase the difficulty of the enemy bots gradually , in order to be able to adapt to each level with the right calm.

After adjusting all the settings, select Start Game , and have fun! You will see that this is one of the fundamental steps to start understanding the game dynamics, knowing all the maps and improving your skills.

Choosing the right equipment

If you want to improve on COD, you definitely need to know in depth what your equipment will be in the match. I assure you, in fact, that by carefully choosing every single element you will be able to play beautiful games and have fun using your equipment class to the fullest. To change, therefore, your arsenal presses the Weapons button , located within the main menu .

Within the Weapons menu you will find a series of settings to modify to obtain different game configurations. To create your own equipment, press the Edit equipment button , select a free slot and change the name (as you wish) in order to immediately identify the different classes created. To get your custom equipment you will first have to choose the main weapon  and the secondary weapon (according to the style of play you want to adopt), and add the right accessories.

Once this is done, you will have to choose the specialties , which will give you special skills during the game. In particular, you will have three slots available to fill as you like with the specialties that you think are best suited to your style of play. To finish the configuration, all you have to do is select two other elements, namely the tactical equipment  and the lethal equipment , or two accessories that you can use during the game by associating them with your arsenal.

In addition to custom equipment, you can also select other items for use in battle via the Weapons menu . Specifically, click on Kill Streaks to choose what to field when you score certain points, filling three slots to your liking. In the Field Upgrades menu, you can choose a skill or a certain piece of equipment to use during the game. The item you have chosen can be used after it is loaded (the loading speed depends on the selected item).

Finally, I inform you that you can also select a clock , via the Clock selection menu . This element is intended to show you both the (real) time during the game, as well as other information (e.g. a mini map).

As I explained to you a little while ago, using your favorite equipment will make it easier for you to face matches and learn how to select the right class based on the type of situation you will face.

Carry out training tests

Another piece of advice I want to give you is to take the training tests provided by the game. In this way, not only will you receive numerous rewards , but you will learn fundamental tactics and thus improve visibly thanks to the advice provided directly by the game. In fact, the tests are structured according to different skills to be trained such as, for example, the ability to move , aim and sensitivity .

To pass the challenge you must reach a minimum score , which you can improve later by repeating the challenge. By completing these challenges, you will have learned the basic tactics of the game and can devote yourself to further improving your skills by starting to play with other gamers in public matches.

Improve your aim

One of the key points of games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare is definitely aiming . Regardless of whether you play with a mouse or a controller, you will immediately notice some difficulties with aiming at first. You absolutely must not be discouraged, as this is one of those skills that can be improved by training with patience and consistency.

In fact, taking advantage of the customized games and carrying out the tests you will immediately notice a big improvement, which will then be consolidated in the public games against other gamers. In addition to training in the game, to improve your aim I recommend that you change the sensitivity of the mouse / controller.

Even by modifying the controls and the layout you can find a configuration that suits you best, which allows you to improve your feeling with the game. Again, the changes are subjective and depend on your style of play. To change the sensitivity value and other settings regarding the commands of your controller / mouse press the Options button , located at the bottom left of the main menu.

Subsequently, if you are playing from a PC, go to the Mouse and keyboard section , where you can find all the settings and commands concerning movement and equipment.In fact, you can modify various parameters such as the sensitivity of the mouse / controller, viewfinder sensitivity and inverted view. My advice, especially regarding the sensitivity, is to modify it a little at a time, in order to find the perfect level for your style of play by trying various configurations.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly what the sensitivity level to set is, since it is a strictly personal value. What I can advise you, however, is to try different values ​​until you find the right one for you.

Similarly, for consoles, head inside the Controller section and change the various settings such as stick sensitivity, aim assist and controller vibration. You will see that over time, and by trying different configurations, you will immediately notice a marked improvement in your aim.

How to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare for two

How do you say? Have you invited a friend over to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare for two via split screen , but don’t know how? First of all, I inform you that if you play from PS4 or Xbox One you will only be able to use the shared screen with the multiplayer mode (unfortunately this is not possible on PC).

You must know, however, that there are some requirements to be met in order to play in two on Call of Duty Modern Warfare: first of all, both you and your friend must have an Activision account each and at least one subscription to PlayStation Plus (in the case of PS4) or Xbox Live Gold (in the case of Xbox One), otherwise it will be impossible to play together. Once these two requirements are met, you will need to have a second controller available to connect to the console.

Then start the game on your console and connect the second controller (if you don’t know how to do it, read my tutorials on how to connect the PS4 and Xbox One controllers ), then taking care to log in with a Sony account or Xbox Live. Within the main COD screen, then press the button to connect the second player ( X on PS4 and A on Xbox One).

At this point, once logged in with the second player’s Activision account , that’s it: you and your friend can enjoy playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare in two via the split screen.
