After hearing so much about the features and freedom offered by smartphones based on the Android operating system , you finally decided to buy one, even if you came from the iPhone . After starting your new phone you realized that you are dealing with a very different device than the one marketed by Apple and you are having a bit of difficulty in figuring out how to bring the apps you used on iPhone back to the latter. In short, you would like to understand if and possibly how to download iOS apps on Android .

Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm but, no, iPhone apps (which have the ipa extension) cannot be installed on Android (where the apps have the apk extension instead ). However, this does not exclude the fact that many of the applications available on the Apple platform are also available on Android and, therefore, it is also possible to install them on the Google home operating system: the problem – if we want to define it so – is that they must be downloaded manually one by one. .

As I have already mentioned to you, downloading iPhone apps on Android is not possible directly; however many apps are multi-platform (i.e. they are compatible with both operating systems), so through the Android Play Store (or other stores such as AppGallery for HUAWEI devices), you can install them in a few taps.

At present, unfortunately, there is no application that automates the procedure. You will therefore have to personally draw up a list of the apps that you absolutely want to use on your new smartphone as well and then proceed with the installation, if available also on Android.

Before carrying out the search on the new store, however, I recommend that you synchronize the data of the individual apps from the Apple smartphone , so that they make a backup of the data on the cloud . It should be emphasized that not all applications offer this possibility, however, the most important ones and that you will almost certainly also have used on the iPhone, such as those of Google ( Google Drive , Google Photos , Google Calendar etc.), allow the synchronization of data.

Regarding the latter, by carrying out a quick procedure, all the important data such as contacts, mail and events that you have marked on the calendar, will also be automatically transferred to the Android smartphone when you add the account.

To perform the step, make sure that the Google account is registered on the iPhone, then open the Settings app , recognizable by the icon of a gear, and then scroll down to access the Mail section or the Contacts section .

Android is a very versatile system, so it offers interesting opportunities for those who want to maintain a sort of aesthetic continuity. As I showed you in the previous chapter, downloading Apple apps on Android is a multi-faceted operation and there is no actual transfer system. If in the Android environment you feel a little lost and would like to continue using the iOS interface, I have the solution for you.

For example, with the Launcher iOS 15 application , available on the Play Store, you can turn your Android into an iPhone, at least from a stylistic point of view. Download it by tapping the Install button and then, on startup, tap Allow when prompted. Once opened, you will find yourself in front of a main menu where you can choose Layout , to establish the size of the application grid; Widget , to add the clock or weather conditions to the home; Wallpapers and, among the many options, even the Blur effect , which you can enable on the dock, widgets or search bar.

If you want to go further, and also add the lock screen, control center and virtual touch controls, just like on the iPhone, you can download specific applications simply using the iOS 15 Launcher . In the main menu touch the items Lock Screen , Control Center or Assisted Touch to be redirected to the Play Store page> from which to download the related additional apps.
