Asus unveils Zenbook 17 Fold OLED laptop with innovative foldable screen
At CES 2022, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus announced the unique Zenbook 17 Fold OLED compact computer. The device is marketed as the world’s first laptop with an innovative folding screen. The novelty can be viewed as a convertible laptop without a physical keyboard, or as a giant tablet with a bendable display.
The laptop is equipped with a 17.3-inch OLED display panel. The matrix has an aspect ratio of 4: 3 and a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. The display folds in the middle, splitting into two seamlessly connected screens (2: 3 aspect ratio, 1920 x 1280 pixel resolution each). The display supports HDR and Dolby Vision technologies. The product is TUV Rheinland and Pantone Validated. The color range covers 100% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.
The hardware scheme of the computer is based on 12th generation Intel Core processors, the top version has Intel Core i7-1250U. The operating system Microsoft Windows 11 is used as the software platform.
A 75 Wh rechargeable battery is responsible for power supply. There are four Harman Kardon speakers and two balanced USB-C ports. With the ErgoSense proprietary Bluetooth keyboard, the device can be used as a laptop or PC. Also, the novelty can play the role of a tablet, an e-book or an additional display.
The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED model will go on sale towards the summer of 2022. The cost of the laptop is still unknown.
