Apex Legends – CSOM MilesAsync OpenOrFindFile error

Apex Legends is a PC game that literally blew up the global gaming charts. However, unfortunately, this title of the Battle Royale genre is not without flaws: low FPS, brakes, crashes, crashes, freezes and other bugs. Increasingly, gamers are faced with problems at the very beginning, for example, when starting Apex, an error appears with the following content:

Users have found solutions to quickly fix it.

Restarting Origin

To get rid of the CSOM MilesAsync OpenOrFindFile error when starting Apex Legends, you need to reinstall the Origin client. Your actions:

  • Launch Origin and open the Library tab.
  • Select your Apex Legends game here.
  • On the video game screen, directly below the Play button, click on the settings gear.
  • Select the “Restore” action from the context menu.
  • After that, the process of checking the relevance of the files will start. If any missing ones are found, they will be loaded automatically.

When the restore process is over, restart Origin. Now launch Apex Legends – the above error should be resolved successfully. However, if it does not help, then do the following procedure.

Reinstalling Origin

In the case when the first option did not suit you and the error “CSOM MilesAsync OpenOrFindFile …” still pops up, try to completely reinstall the Origin client. Quite often, the source of the problem is with the Apex Legends video game settings or PC configuration completely unrelated. In this case, the problem is caused by incorrect installation of Origin. This can be quickly fixed by reinstalling the client without having to download the game again. It is enough to uninstall the application, then reinstall it, specifying the folder where it was actually installed earlier. So:

  • Press the key combination Win + R.
  • Then, in the dialog box, you need to type the command appwiz.cpl.
  • Find Origin in the list and click on it. Click Remove.
  • Download the latest version from the official source:https://origin-pro.ru/and start the installation process.

Remember the program must be installed exclusively in the folder in which it was previously located. Therefore, you need to check that the correct path is displayed in the window during installation. This will reinstall Origin and overwrite the files from the previous version. This will not directly affect Apex Legends, and you will not need to download it again. After installation, launch the client and check if the problem with starting the game has been fixed. If not, apply another version of its solution.

Switch language

There is a language change feature in Apex Legends’ settings. If the game has crashes such as “CSOM MilesAsync OpenOrFindFile” error, many users have fixed it by temporarily changing the language. This forces the installer of the game to load functional files that may have been damaged.

  • Open Origin.
  • In the library, right-click on the Apex.
  • Select “Game Properties”.
  • In the parameters go to the “Advanced launch settings” section and change the Russian language to “English US”. Click “Save”.
  • Then right-click again on Apex Legends and hit “Restore”.

After the done manipulations, try to start the game, if everything went well, then switch the language back to Russian.
