How to lock Apple Watch
If what you are interested in understanding is how to lock Apple Watch when you are not wearing the watch, I inform you that you can do this in two different ways: using the automatic locking system that is activated when the device is not worn on the wrist, or the manual one. However, keep in mind that using one mode excludes the other.
To configure and use the watch lock system, all you have to do is wear Apple Watch on your wrist and, once the dial is displayed, press on the Digital Crown to access the device menu and select the Settings and Code items.
If you have not yet configured a lock code on Apple Watch or if you had previously disabled it, first select the appropriate option to configure or re-enable the aforementioned function.
At this point, if you want to use the automatic locking system of the watch, turn ON the lever that you find next to the wording Wrist detection; if, on the other hand, you want to enable manual blocking, turn it to OFF.
After following the steps above, if you have activated the automatic clock lock, you do not need to do anything else. If, on the other hand, you have configured the manual lock, every time you want to lock the smartwatch you will have to call up the watchOS Control Center (by swiping from the bottom of the screen upwards in the screen with the dial, or even in other screens if first keep your finger pressed for a few seconds on the bottom of the display) and select the button marked with the padlock, so that it changes from gray to colored.
In addition to directly from Apple Watch, you can also configure the clock lock from the iPhone to which the device is paired. To do this, first make sure that smartwatch and smartphone are connected to each other, proceeding as I explained in my guide on how to connect Apple Watch to iPhone.
Next, put on the Apple Watch, take the iPhone, access the home screen and/or the App Library and select the Watch app icon (the one with the Apple Watch and the black background ) pre-installed on iOS (if removed, it can be downloaded again from the relevant section of the App Store ). In the Apple Watch section of the app screen that you now see, then touch the wording Code and proceed in the same way as I have already explained to you in the previous lines (obviously acting from iPhone instead of Apple Watch).
As for, however, the ability to unlock the Apple Watch after locking it, regardless of whether you have enabled the automatic or manual lock, you can do it simply by tapping on the watch screen, typing the code on the Enter screen. code that appears and pressing the OK key.
You can also consider configuring the automatic unlock of the watch when the iPhone is unlocked, which kicks in when the two devices are connected to each other, are close together and the watch is on the user’s wrist. To activate this function, go to the Settings> Apple Watch Code section or go to the Apple Watch section > Watch app code on the iPhone and turn ON the lever next to the item Unlock with iPhone.
